First, let me say Thank You for your interest in my practice and for visiting my website. I feel a strong connection to my community and to the people of Virginia! I’m a native Virginian and grew up in Williamsburg. In the summer, I loved to visit my grandparents, who owned Hull’s Drive In in Buena Vista. 

Even as a child, I often fell into the role of “protector” for the little ones. I couldn’t stand bullies then, and I still can’t to this day. I guess that’s what led me into the practice of law, and my specialty of representing victims of Premises Injury. 

MY CAREER

I've been in practice for more than 23 years, and am well regarded by my peers and frequently requested as co-counsel on serious, complex cases, particularly for my skill in premises/retailer liability.

I’m the former president of the Virginia Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, which is an elite national organization focused on elevating the standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession and preserving the American jury system.

I have tried over 125 civil cases to verdict in more than 25 jurisdictions throughout the state of Virginia.

I've won over 75% of my cases that have gone to verdict (beating the offer/demand in admitted liability cases or winning a contested liability case). I frequently represent clients in federal courts in the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia. My familiarity and comfort with the unique and challenging rules of the Eastern District of Virginia, known as the “Rocket Docket,” gives my clients a distinct advantage in that forum. I have also successfully argued before the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Virginia Supreme Court.

MY TRAJECTORY

I started my career at a boutique civil litigation firm in downtown Richmond where I represented a variety of corporations and insurance companies in lawsuits throughout Virginia. In particular, I represented Wal-Mart against civil litigation claims for over seven years. I tried many cases in state and federal court, as well as in the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. It was that experience that drew me back to my childhood roots as a protector for the little guy, and I turned my practice to the representation of innocent victims.

I branched out with a partner and founded Bucci & Dix, PLLC, a very successful practice that we managed for over 8 years, before joining the prestigious firm of Breit Cantor in 2015.

MY EDUCATION

I graduated with High Honors from the George Mason University School of Law in 1998. I then had an opportunity to be a law clerk for 4 Judges - Judge Bonnie Shockley, Judge Ted Hanson, Judge Alan Rosenblatt, and Judge Fred Lowe at the Virginia Beach Circuit Court. The invaluable experience I received behind the scenes of a courtroom remains one of the highlights on my career. 

I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia in political science (Go Wahoos!). During my time at UVA I was fortunate enough to experience a study abroad semester in Cairo, Egypt. 

MY LIFE

I’ve lived in Richmond for almost 25 years, and my amazing wife, Melissa and I are two very tired parents to 2 sets of rambunctious twins (Hays and Leo, Stella and Celeste). We also have an 11 year old English bulldog named Flanagan who takes the chaos in our house like a champ! My family enjoys college sports, cookouts, and time by the water. 

In 2010 I was deemed a viable match for a kidney transplant for my wife who was very sick at the time with Lupus. We are both doing great and just celebrated the 11th anniversary of the transplant at VCU.
